Red Beach: One of Santorini’s Most Famous Attractions
Red Beach is one of the most famous places on Santorini, and when I visited in June 2026, I understood why. Surrounded by tall cliffs of red and black volcanic rock, with dark sand and clear blue water below, it looks completely different from the rest of the island. It was truly beautiful, and I took some of my favorite photos of the whole trip here. The beach is near the village of Akrotiri and the archaeological site, and the walk from the parking area is short, but the path is rocky, so wear proper shoes.

Oia: Where to Find Santorini’s Iconic White Houses
Oia is the most popular place on Santorini for the white houses you see all over Instagram and Pinterest. Whitewashed buildings with blue doors and domes line the caldera cliffs, with narrow marble streets leading to the best viewpoints. It is especially busy at sunset, so arrive early or visit in the morning if you want photos with fewer people.
Fira and Imerovigli: The Best Places to Visit
Fira is the capital of Santorini, known for its whitewashed houses, narrow streets, shops and stunning caldera views.
Imerovigli, located just north of Fira, is quieter and famous for its romantic atmosphere and incredible sunsets.
Both villages offer beautiful views of the Aegean Sea, charming cafés and picturesque streets. Don’t miss the Three Bells of Fira, the scenic walking path between Fira and Imerovigli, and Skaros Rock in Imerovigli.
If you want to enjoy a beautiful sunset away from the biggest crowds, Imerovigli is one of the best places to visit on Santorini.
