Oh, Spain… ❤️
How can you not fall in love with it?
Hot summers, a warm and beautiful climate, stunning architecture, and so many beaches to choose from. And what can I even say about the food and the incredible city vibe?
I’ve already been to Barcelona three times — the international city, as I like to call it.
And I still haven’t seen everything!
Just look at Montserrat, right outside Barcelona — mountains, a charming little town, a monastery and an incredible church, surrounded by breathtaking views. ⛰️❤️ It’s definitely worth making a separate trip there.
And what about Gaudí’s Sagrada Família, which has been under construction for years? And finally, in 2026, the Tower of Jesus Christ — the central and tallest tower of the basilica — was completed, marking the culmination of decades of construction. Now Sagrada Família looks even closer to what Gaudí originally envisioned. It’s truly an incredible place that you have to see at least once. ❤️
And then there’s Park Güell, where you shouldn’t just stop for a quick photo — you should actually take your time and walk through the park, admire Gaudí’s incredible architecture, and enjoy the breathtaking views over Barcelona. 🌿
Casa Batlló — what an imagination the artist had, and what incredible art! The architecture and all the unusual details are simply amazing. You could spend so much time just looking at every little element.
And you absolutely have to walk down La Rambla towards the waterfront, where the Christopher Columbus Monument stands, with Columbus pointing out towards the sea. 🌊
There’s also an interesting fact about the monument: many people think that Columbus is pointing towards America, but that’s not actually the case. His hand points out towards the sea, but not directly in the direction of America.
On the way, make sure to stop at the Font de Canaletes. It’s also a beautiful spot for photos 📸.
And, by the way, there’s a local legend connected to this fountain: if you drink from the Font de Canaletes, you will return to Barcelona one day. ❤️
And then — the Barcelona waterfront. This is the perfect place to simply walk along the sea, look at the yachts, enjoy the sea breeze, and take in the atmosphere of the city. It’s a completely different side of Barcelona — more relaxed, more Mediterranean, and absolutely beautiful.
And if you’re looking for a beach — there are plenty to choose from. And in general, the Barcelona metro is very convenient. It’s easy to get around the city, and you can also use it to reach some great beaches outside the city centre.
But one important warning ⚠️ — be very careful with your belongings. There are a lot of pickpockets in the metro, on La Rambla, and in other tourist areas. Keep your phone, wallet, and other valuables somewhere they’re difficult to reach.
And then there’s incredible Tibidabo. ⛪️
At the top of the mountain you’ll find the beautiful Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor — the Temple of the Sacred Heart. It has two levels, and from the top you get an absolutely incredible panoramic view over the whole of Barcelona. 🌆
And what about Montjuïc Castle, with its views over the whole of Barcelona?!
It’s definitely one of those places worth visiting, even if it’s just for the incredible views over the entire city, the port, and the sea. 🌅
And of course, don’t forget about the city centre — the Gothic Quarter.
Narrow medieval streets, beautiful old architecture, Barcelona’s cathedrals, little squares — it’s the kind of place where you just want to wander around without a specific route and take everything in.
These are my honest recommendations after three trips to Barcelona 🇪🇸❤️
And I still haven’t seen everything.
So I guess Barcelona will be seeing me again.
